They list a normal A4 shock as fittment on RS4. This is wrong and we have pointed this out to them , but they simply dont want to listen. A normal A4 damper generates Half of the resistance forces needed By the RS4 specifically. If the Part number doensnt say RS4 the valving simply isnt ideal.
Quality competitor Products also list shocks for RS4 but when researched they are also using dampers from a Lesser model. Without any damping adjustability it simply wont be perfect for the RS4's specific Unsprung Mass which is very different to a normal A4 or S4. D I Y enthusiast's with our guidance will cope easily, 4 to 5 hour job. Detailed instructions supplied with the kit. The kit comes with close off caps for the DRC pipes. You may not be aware but only Audi garages Mainly can charge the DRC system, refill the oil and Gas the system. This is costly before even paying for the new dampers or Pipes which perish with corrosion. The Kit fits all Models :- Saloon. Estate, and convertible all covered. Due to the nature of the DRC system all 4 shock absorbers must be replaced initially, after this individual parts can be changed corner by corner.
Due to the fact this kit is developed exclusively by CRS the parts do not appear in the world wide KONI catalogue. We supply directly all over the world.
We have enjoyed great success with this kit. Our experience has come from fitting over 100 cars and checking ideal settings for the dampers. We have fitted kits for Audi dealerships in the past and they were also surprised at the results. Coil overs are often offered as an alternative to the DRC system but it is very important to note that any make of coil over kit fitted will lower the car between 30 and 50 mm , this makes the car harsh to drive and very tempremental over speed humps, over pot holes and poor road surfaces. A concern from some purests is that the car needs to have the anti roll bars uprated in order to simulate what the DRC system does, when replacing it with conventional shocks.
With most cheaper replacement parts this is indeed a problem. BUT, The KONI RS4 Dampers are valved to be stiffer in slow speed (low frequency) shaft movements , this puts back the additional forces normally generated by the DRC system and this is Why the Kit works so well. Many thanks for the shocks for my Audi, drives just how it used to. Fitted konis to my RS4 and much better than the original... My car was already fitted with H&R lowered springs and 10mm spacers so not completely standard.I didn't want adjustable platform coil overs, as I feel it is useless for road use. I came across Steve at CRS performance who is the sole importer for KONI in to South Africa. He also has many years experience in. Set up, he seemed to have all the answers. He had fitted 15 plus sets to. In UK and many more out in SA, sales jargon????? More research and a call to Koni UK who reassured me of their product for my car, they are also in collaboration with H&R (they sell Koni/H&R kits) and told me to contact Steve. I wanted the car to handle like a go kart but not rattle my fillings out, he made some alterations and sent them out. Out on the open road....
There is no body roll at all, the car actually feels sportier, sweeping bends and the car is planted, mega stable. Actually it seems to handle better the faster you go, PAT.
